Through lectures, case sharing, and surgical demonstrations, domestic and international experts jointly analyzed the differences in surgical details between China and the United States, learning from each other's experiences and techniques. They also conducted in-depth discussions on innovative development directions and technological hotspots in bariatric surgery. EziSurg Medical's independently developed easyEndo® E-lite Endoscopic Stapler assisted the expert team in completing the live surgical demonstration. The product's performance and lightweight design received unanimous praise from the experts.

Professor Wang Cun-Chuan stated that the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University has always been committed to promoting the standardized and scientific development of the field of bariatric and metabolic management. The forum not only provided a platform for exchange and cooperation among experts and scholars from home and abroad but also brought great benefits to many patients.
At present, obesity and its related metabolic diseases have become global health challenges. According to the latest data from the World Obesity Federation, the global obese population is expected to reach 4 billion by 2035, accounting for more than half of the world's total population. As one of the most populous countries in the world, China's obesity rate is also rising year by year. According to the latest statistics, the number of overweight and obese people in China has exceeded 600 million, making it the country with the largest obese population in the world.
Generally, severely overweight people can alleviate the health risks associated with weight-related diseases through bariatric surgery. However, compared with countries such as the United States and Brazil, the popularity of bariatric surgery in China is still insufficient, with a relatively low penetration rate. In 2023, the total number of bariatric surgeries performed in China was about 35,000. In contrast, Brazil performed 82,000 bariatric surgeries in 2023, while the United States performed more than 280,000 bariatric surgeries in 2022, highlighting the potential for development in China's bariatric surgery field. As obesity issues become more serious, medical technology advances, and awareness of bariatric surgery increases, the penetration rate of bariatric surgery in China is expected to rise gradually.
EziSurg will continue to promote international academic exchanges, technological advancements, and professional education in the field of bariatric surgery in China, helping to popularize bariatric surgery domestically and jointly promote the vigorous development of China's bariatric and metabolic surgery industry!
